STEVE MAYS, SR.

Past President, Maryland Licensed Tree Expert #271, Maryland / Delaware Master Logger

Steve joined the company when Mays Tree Experts merged with Carroll Tree Service in 1988. With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Steve leads the company in daily operations and oversees complex operations. His client list includes landscape architects, universities, construction companies, and hundreds of home owners. Steve became the president of Carroll Tree Service in January of 2006. He and his wife Margaret have nine children together. Presently, seven of the Mays children work at Carroll Tree Service full-time: Steve Jr, Sam, Luke, Emily, Hank, Gus, and Eli. In 2016, Steve, Sr. became majority owner of Carroll Tree Service. After hears at the helm, Steve, Sr. sold his interest in the company to four of his sons. He currently oversees portions of production and serves as the chief advisor to the Board of Directors.

STEVE Mays, JR.

Steve, Jr. has been involved with Carroll Tree Service for over 20 years. He started as a young part-time apprentice and years later became a full-time climbing foreman. Today, Steve is a fully qualified arborist who oversees the expanded sales operations of the company. He provides consultation and assessment services and also oversees tree preservation operations. His client list includes municipalities, development contractors, and residents throughout the Baltimore area. In 2016, Steve, Jr. became a minority owner of Carroll Tree Service. In 2022, he acquired an equal share of the company and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

STEPHEN G. SPRAGUE

Chief Financial Officer, Past President of the Maryland Arborist Association, ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist, Maryland Licensed Tree Expert #1690, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessor-Qualified, TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, NCCCO Certified Crane Operator, Authorized Electrical Hazards Awareness Program (EHAP) Instructor, National Safety Council CPR / First Aid Instructor, Maryland Temporary Traffic Control Manager

Stephen has been with Carroll Tree Service since 2004. During his time with the company Stephen has progressed through the ranks as a climber, foreman, and crane operator. He was instrumental in Carroll Tree Service's accreditation process with the Tree Care Industry Association in 2009. Today, Stephen oversees finance, compliance and human resources, provides leadership in business development and administration, and serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors.

SAM MAYS

Vice President, Maryland Licensed Tree Expert #1688, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessor-Qualified, Maryland / Delaware Master Logger

Sam has been with Carroll Tree Service for over 15 years. He is experienced in all facets of arboricultural production. Today, Sam is a talented sales arborist for the company. He provides consultation and assessment services and also oversees operations of elevated hazard. His client list includes utility contractors, property managers, and prominent institutions and residents throughout the Baltimore area. In 2016, Sam became a minority owner of Carroll Tree Service. In 2022, he acquired an equal share of the company and currently serves on the Board of Directors.

LUKE MAYS

Chief Operating Officer, Maryland Licensed Tree Expert #1687, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessor-Qualified. Maryland / Delaware Master Master Logger, NCCCO Certified Crane Operator

Luke has been with Carroll Tree Service for over 15 years. His wide array of arboricultural experience and expertise of crane operations contributes greatly to the company's success. In 2016, Luke became a minority owner of Carroll Tree Service. In 2022, he acquired an equal share of the company and currently serves on the Board of Directors.

HANK MAYS

Director / General Production, ISA Certified Arborist

Hank has also been with Carroll Tree Service for many years. In addition to his general production responsibilities, Hank oversees hauling and debris management activities for the company. In 2016, Hank became a minority owner of Carroll Tree Service. In 2022, he acquired an equal share of the company and currently serves on the Board of Directors.
